Only one way to find out! To have this conversation again 10 years from now, that would be amazing! I’m happy that a con like this exists because I always thought that the Ancient Astronaut theory is a perfect topic for young people today. So I think they’ve always been with us! That’s why back in the day they were called The Watchers or the Guardians of the Sky.ĭo you think AlienCon can become as massive as New York Comic Con and San Diego Comic Con in the future?

Well that’s not true because we do have stories and UFO encounters and paintings or references of UFO encounters in the Middle Ages. That there was this giant gap in-between. So the idea was never that you know, 2,000 or 3,000 years ago the extraterrestrials left and then they came back in 1947 with the crash in Roswell. If the idea is correct that we are all some sort of project by them, then you would always leave someone behind to monitor progress. Frankly, I’m embracing that change because I think that the ancient aliens never really left. If you remember in the first couple of scenes we rarely talked about modern day UFOs.

I think that Ancient Aliens has changed in that we are embracing more mysteries. How do you feel Ancient Aliens has changed from its premiere back in 2010 up to now? They either deserve an Academy Award or they’re speaking the truth! It’s a very interesting ride. It’s very surreal to me but at the same time a lot of people are saying, “Oh, these people, they’re just making these stories up and they’re just liars.” I beg to differ because some of these people when you look them in the eye, they’re close to you, and they start trembling and their breathing changes. And then to be approached by people and they tell you very intimate stories about their experiences, that’s incredible. Or had an abduction experience or something like that. What I find truly amazing is when people confide stories in you know because often times it’s very hard for people to come forward and admit that they’ve seen a UFO. It really shows that the show has struck a chord with people. It’s great! Meeting the fans is, to this day and I think it will forever be, a surreal experience for me.

What’s it like when fans meet you during events like AlienCon? But that does not and did not preclude them from asking them questions beyond religion and beyond the norm. They were incredibly open-minded people even though both my parents grew up very religiously as Christians. This whole idea of extraterrestrials visiting our Earth in the remote past, and these questions about ancient mysteries… Those were dinner table conversations in my household growing up, especially when my grandparents were over. So from time to time instead of reading normal bedtime stories she would read Edgar Cayce’s Atlantis to me, Chariots of the Gods by Erich von Däniken. She basically thought it was a good idea that when I was six or seven years old to switch up bed time stories. But I had to make money somehow in order to fund my true passion which was always the extraterrestrials. Yes, I love my previous life as a pro-bodybuilding promoter. So she planted the seed very, very young. I’ve been interested in ancient astronauts ever since I was six years old when my grandmother was the first one to introduce me to these topics. I’m very happy about the decision I made. Both lines of work were suffering, so in 2005 I had to make a decision… And here we are! In 2005, I had to make a decision because I was running both my Ancient Astronaut society and my bodybuilding promotion work at the same time. This began in 1998 but in the same year I began working in the pro-bodybuilding world, I also began publishing my magazine Legendary Times in my society, the Ancient Astronaut & SETI Research Association (AASRA).
